Luckily on Mt Buller the fun doesn’t have to end on the slopes. With over 30 eateries in the village and events that take place every week, there’s something to excite those of all ages. So, what are some activities on Mt Buller that you should check out while on your snowy getaway?
Cinema
The Mt Buller Cinema holds the title of being the highest altitude cinema in Australia, and what better way to warm up then to watch a movie in a cosy cinema! The cinema has 180 seats and offers a small kiosk where you can purchase movie snacks and chocolate. Two movies are shown in a night and you can even purchase a cinema club membership so you can go all season. Make your way to Alpine Central on your next trip up the mountain.
Spa
After a long day on the slopes and being exposed to the harsh elements, a spa treatment may be the perfect remedy. The award winning Breathtaker On High Spa is an award-winning wellness centre that uses natural products from their range called Breathe, which is made with the goodness of native plants to ensure that your skin is left feeling refreshed after a long day. Choose from mud wraps, exfoliating treatments, massages, facials and scrubs all aimed at protecting and rejuvenating the skin. There’s even water therapy available s to sooth tired muscles with a hydrotherapy soak, steam and spa rooms and a 20 metre lap pool.
Buller Air Zone
Jump around at the place where Olympians train! This is a great area to practice flips and try out some freestyle with 5 trampolines, an inflatable boulder wall and a climbing wall. It’s perfect for families looking to get out of the cold and for the little ones there’s jolly jumper sessions where they can play around till their heart’s content.
Gnome Roam
This self-guided tour will take families on a magical walk through Mt. Buller allowing the little ones to spot gnomes on the way, as well as seeing how the mystical creatures live and play. Discover the Mountain Ash tree where you’ll come across the Gnome home, and grab a keepsake booklet from Alpine Central, as well as an audio tour.
Sled Dog Tours
The friendly Siberian Huskies of Mt Buller’s sled dog tours are a popular adventure activity great for the adrenaline seekers. Bookings are essential as these tours aren’t available for long, and there are different options for you to choose from. The Sampler Tour will see you on a 10-minute tour with the opportunity to take photos and meet and greet the huskies.
The Mountain View Run includes the same options however the tour is for an hour where you can take in your gorgeous surroundings. The Harnessed Dreams tour allows you to lead yourself on this exciting adventure that goes for around an hour and a half. Finally, there’s the Powder Hound Adventure Tour which goes for about 3.5 hours and requires a moderate level of fitness as you’ll need to run with the team at some stages.
